Are you a UNIX or Linux lover like me? If you are also fond of Linux and love working on that BLACK SCREEN, then you must read this article till the end. I am going to talk about “Linux CLI Launcher (T-UI)”, which is the launcher for Android Smartphones, and will give you same feel and look as you are working on Linux command line interface (CLI).
Are you bored seeing your old Android user interface or frustrated with your Android Launcher?
I am sure you must be bored of your old application launcher and want something new and If you are a Linux user, no other Android launcher can be better than “Linux CLI Launcher“. It is basically an Android application made by “Francesco Andreuzzi”, who is only 17 years old and was born in Trieste (Italy).
“Linux CLI Launcher” is a very powerful, yet very simple Android launcher, which lets you use Linux native commands over Andorid phones. ISN’T THAT COOL?
This Android launcher for your phone is absolutely free and is available on Google Play store. Also, you don’t have to root your Smartphone for using it. Below are some of its features, which you would like to know.

I tried few basic Linux commands and they were working perfectly fine.
For instance, I tried “pwd” to check my current working directory, “ls” to list the content of current working directory, “swap” for checking the memory along with buffer, “whoami” to check my logged in user name, etc.
There are lots of commands to play around and you can also use the “help” command to see how commands work. It is similar to man in UNIX/Linux.
Apart from all the UNIX/Linux like user interface, you can also play music. It has inbuilt music player and you just have to type “listen track_name” to listen to your favourite music. I am sure you will like it.
You can simply call anyone by just typing “call name“, or just type “wifi” to switch-On your WiFi or just type “chrome” to open the chrome browser. Commands are pretty straight forward and it is very fast and you will enjoy it.
Even if you do not remembering the complete name of any application, just write first letter and complete name will automatically populate on your screen.
Memory Utilization of Linux CLI Launcher
I also check 3 hours average memory utilization of this Android launcher on my OnePlus 3 phone and it was 14 MB less than the default Android phone launcher of OnePlus 3 phone.
The reason for this low memory utilization is the graphics which this launcher don’t have.
I think this is the best Android launcher for Linux users which takes less space on your phone and consume less memory, but if you are not familiar with UNIX/Linux please do not install it as you won’t find it fancy.
Do try this Android phone launcher and comment your experience and feedback on this application. Also, do subscribe to my blog for more articles on Linux/Unix.
