WordPress is the most versatile and flexible blogging platform which has lots of features and functions. If you want any function or modification in your WordPress theme, then there is a plugin for it. The popularity of WordPress is so much that, every developer want to create WordPress theme and plugin for users. In this article I would like to name some WordPress plugin, which I like to use and I have not used actively till now.
1. bbPress : This is WordPress plugin, which allows simple WordPress blog converts to a Forum, is a very simple and fast plugin. Now you don’t have to use any other forum software to run your forum.
Generally forum are very heavy and requires lots of moderation and knowledge to implement customization. bbPress forum plugin made your life simpler in terms of forum.
2. BuddyPress : BuddyPress is the second plugin which I like to use. This is a social networking plugin which can be used to quickly create social network for your team, community, school, company etc.
This plugin allows user to create their profile, groups, connecting with other members and many more things. This plugin is really awesome for making network connection type website.
3. WP Maintenance Mode: Want to do maintenance of your WordPress blog like migration, upgrade etc., then this plugin is a true life saver which lets your visitor know that your WP site is under maintenance and do come back after sometime.
So now when every time you do maintenance of your blog, do not forget to activate this plugin to splash page to your blog that lets visitors know your site is down for maintenance. This plugin also give facility to add a countdown, which lets your visitor know, when you are going to be live.
4. WooCommerce: This is excelling eCommerce plugin for WordPress which make your normal WordPress website to a eCommerce website selling different plugin. Now why waste money on making expensive site for making eCommerce website, when you can do this yourself by installing this plugin for free.
This plugin is created by WooThemes, who also creates WordPress themes as per your need and requirements. This plugin gives wide variety of options for your website. Bu using this plugin you can use different payment methods to receive payments. You can also use different shipping methods in this plugin.
5. NextGEN Gallery : This is on of the most used WordPress gallery plugin which convert your WP blog into a picture gallery and is ideal for photo blogs.
This plugins gives the centralized gallery management and easy upload options. You can upload batch photo using this plugin and Watermark facility is also available in this plugin.
These were some of the plugin which I like to use if I open site related to eCommerce, photo gallery site, support forum etc. in coming future.
